LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 23 mm, 7.33 g, 3 h), from the "Θ" group. Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with griffin; behind neck, dotted P. Rev. YEΛHTΩN Lion walking to right; above, Φ. HN III 1284. SNG ANS 1292 (same dies). Williams 264 (O152/R203). Well-centered and stylish. Overstruck, somewhat crystallised and with traces of corrosion, otherwise, nearly very fine.
