LYCIA. Phaselis. Circa 550-530/20 BC. Stater (Silver, 18 mm, 10.41 g). Prow of galley to left, in the form of a boar’s head. Rev. Irregular incuse square. Heipp-Tamer 1. Müseler IX,1 (same dies). SNG von Aulock 4389. A very rare example of the earliest issue of Phaselis. Some minor scratches, otherwise, good very fine.



This is one of the earliest civic silver coins minted in Asia Minor.
