PHRYGIA. Philomelion. late 2nd-1st century BC. (Bronze, 24 mm, 6.87 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Skythinos. Laureate and draped bust of Mên to right, set on crescent, wearing a highly decorated Phrygian cap and a torque. Rev. ΦIΛOMH ΣKYΘINO Zeus seated left on low throne, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left. BMC 2. SNG Copenhagen 643. SNG von Aulock 3915. Natural glossy dark patina with a few earthen deposits. Very fine.
