PHRYGIA. Apameia. Circa 88-40 BC. (Bronze, 22.5 mm, 8.22 g, 1 h), struck under the magistrate Kokos (?). Bust of Athena to right, wearing aegis and crested Corinthian helmet. Rev. AΠAMEΩN [KΩKOY] Eagle landing on a base with a maeander pattern, flanked by the caps of the Dioskouroi; behind eagle's head, star. BMC 78-82. HGC 7, 670. SNG Copenhagen 161. A coin of lovely style, with a glossy green patina. Very fine.
