PHRYGIA. Apameia. Circa 100-50 BC. (Bronze, 21 mm, 7.51 g, 11 h), struck under the magistrate Andronikos son of Alkios. Bust of Athena to right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet. Rev. AΠAMEΩN / ANΔPONIKOY AΛKIOY Eagle landing on a base with a maeander pattern, flanked by the caps of the Dioskouroi; behind eagle's head, star. BMC 37-9. HGC 7, 670. SNG Copenhagen 163. A coin of lovely style, with a natural glossy dark patina . Good very fine.
