MYSIA. Pergamon. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 12.55 g, 12 h), c. 95-92. Basket (cista mystica) from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, monogram of ΠEPΓ ; to right, serpent-entwined staff of Asclepius; between snakes heads, AM. Kleiner, Hoard 3. SNG Paris 1725. Sharp, lustrous and clear. Obverse struck very slightly off-centre, otherwise, extremely fine.
