Caracalla, 198-217. Antoninianus (Silver, 22 mm, 4.76 g, 12 h), Rome, 215-217. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to right. Rev. VENVS VICTRIX Venus standing facing, her head turned left, holding Victory in her right hand and scepter with her left, resting her left elbow on an oval shield set on a helmet. BMC 79. Cohen 608. RIC 311c. A most attractive coin with a very elegant portrait. Well centered and lightly toned. Extremely fine.
