ATTICA. Athens. Circa 449-404 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.12 g, 1 h), c. 440-430. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves and palmette, round earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing to right, head facing; behind, olive spray and crescent moon; all within incuse square. HGC 4, 1597. Kroll 8. A beautifully centered example, of a very restrained Classical style and with a complete helmet crest. Good very fine.
