ATTICA. Athens. Circa 465/2-454 BC. Obol (Silver, 8.5 mm, 0.65 g, 2 h). Helmeted head of Athena to right, with three olive leaves over the visor and tendril on the bowl. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing to right, with head facing and triple-pointed tail feathers; to left, long curved olive leaf and fruit. HGC 4, 1664. Starr Group V. Cf. Svoronos pl. 9, 42. Rare and attractively toned. Somewhat rough surfaces, otherwise, nearly very fine.
