SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos III ‘the Great’, 223-187 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.96 g, 1 h), Uncertain mint in southern or eastern Syria, circa 202 BC. ΔΙ Diademed head of Antiochos III to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on bow at his side; ΔΙ in exergue. Gulbenkian 1036 var. SC 1113.4. SNG Spaer 769 var. With an interesting, 'eastern'-style portrait. Minor mark on the cheek, otherwise, extremely fine.
