IONIA. Phokaia. Circa 478-387 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 10 mm, 2.54 g), early in the second quarter of the 5th century. Bald and wreathed head of Silenos facing, with wide, open eyes, broad beard and long mustache; to left, seal swimming upwards. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Bodenstedt 67a/α. Very rare and clearly struck, perhaps the 8th example known, and certainly one of the finest with a detailed head of Silenos. About extremely fine.
