KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.06 g, 6 h), uncertain mint in Greece or Macedon, c. 310-275. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, dolphin swimming downwards; in exergue, bukranion between T - I. Price 850. SNG Saroglos 371 (same dies). Same obverse die as Nomos 15, 2017, 78. Rare. Lightly toned and attractive. Struck on a broad flan. Reverse slightly doubled, otherwise, good very fine.
