KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.97 g, 12 h), Salamis in Cyprus, circa 323-315. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, rudder and ΛΩ; below throne, NIK monogram. Price 3155. Bold and well-centred on a broad flan. Some marks, otherwise, good very fine.
