KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.85 g, 3 h), struck under Philip III Arrhidaios, uncertain mint in Cilicia, c. 323-317. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, wreath; below throne, ΔΙ. Price 2949 (as Side). Toned. Obverse struck slightly off-center, otherwise, very fine.
