Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing a triple-crested Attic helmet, adorned with Pegasos and a long tendril on the bowl, and with four horse protomes on the visor, and a pendant earring . Rev. Α-ΘΕ /ΗΡΑ / ΑΡΙ - ΣΤΟ /ΒΑΣΙ/ΛΕΙ Owl standing facing on amphora; to left, club of Herakles downwards, with lion's skin and bow in case; on amphora, Κ (= 10th month); below amphora, ΓΛ (= contractor’s initials); all within olive wreath. Thompson 339. Attractive and well struck. Traces of corrosion and with minor pitting, otherwise, extremely fine.
