Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX, 1282-1328. Hyperpyron (Gold, 25 mm, 3.98 g, 5 h), Constantinople, 1303-1320. Bust of the Virgin orans within the city walls furnished with four groups of towers; +-+ sigla on the upper field and K-N sigla on the lower field. Rev. Fragmentary inscription / IX-XC Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus II (to left) and Michael IX (to right) kneeling to either side. DOC 353-369 var (sigla). LPC 62.1. PCPC 127, sigla 181. SB 2396. Very fine.
