LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 20.5 mm, 7.44 g, 11 h), from the "Θ" group. Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with griffin; behind neck, Θ. Rev. YEΛHTΩN Lion walking to right; above, Φ; below, P. HN III 1284. SNG Copenhagen 1551 (same dies). Williams 267 (O154/R209). Well-centered, clear and stylish. Good very fine.
