SICILY. Himera. Circa 420-410 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.16 g, 1 h). [ΙΜΕΡΑΙΟΝ] Charioteer driving quadriga slowly to right; above, Nike flying left, bearing a wreath for the driver. Rev. The nymph Himera standing facing, turned slightly to the left, holding phiale in her right hand to pour a libation over an altar to left; to right, satyr showering to right in a stream of water emanating from a lion’s head spout; above right, barley grain. De Nanteuil 290 (this coin). Gutmann-Schwabacher 19, e (this coin). McClean 2297 (same dies). Very rare and of fine style. Struck from slightly rusty dies, otherwise. Good very fine.
