SAMARIA. Neapolis. Philip I, 245-249. (Bronze, 23.5 mm, 17.29 g, 6 h), celebrating the first neocoria. IMP C M IVL PHILIPPO P F AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I to right . Rev. NEAPOLI NE[OCORO] / COL✷ Roma seated facing, with her right foot placed on globe, holding spear; behind her to right, the Tyche of Neapolis standing left to face Roma; on the left field, Philip I standing to left, holding scepter, and raising his hand at the personification of the Senate of Neapolis; above, Philip's head, Mount Gerizim. BMC 123. Harl 21 (A5/P19). Rosenberger 82. SNG ANS 1017 (this obverse die). Same dies as Heritage 3003 (2012) 20658. Adjustment marks on both sides, and some roughness, otherwise, very fine.
