Faustus Cornelius Sulla, 56 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.74 g, 5 h), Rome. Diademed, laureate and draped bust of Venus to right. Rev. Three military trophies; to left, jug; to right, lituus; in exergue, monogram of FAVSTVS. Babelon (Cornelia) 63. Crawford 426/3. Sydenham 884. Lightly toned and with an attractive large bust of Venus. Struck on a heavy flan adjusted by clipping; and with some striking flatness, otherwise, extremely fine.

Ex Nomos 14, 17 May 2017, 259, from the collection of W. F. Stoecklin, bought from Münzen und Medaillen in Basel prior to 1975 .
