CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 240-228 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 6.52 g, 4 h), struck under magistrates Olympis. OΛYMΠIΣ Cuirassed warrior, brandishing spear in his right hand and the reins in his left, riding horse galloping to right; behind, his raised hand, wreath. Rev. Τ-ΑΡΑΣ Phalanthos, nude, riding dolphin to left, holding cornucopia with his right hand and kantharos in his upraised left; to right, tripod. HN III 1055. Vlasto 942 (this reverse die). A lustrous and bright example. Good very fine.
