LYDIA. Philadelphia. 2nd-1st century BC. (Bronze, 17 mm, 5.49 g, 12 h), Hermippos, son of Hermogenes, archiereus. ΦΙΛΑΔΕΛΦΕΩΝ Ivy-wreathed head of Dionysos to right. Rev. ΑΡΧΙΕΡΕΥΣ / ΕΡΜΙΠΠΟΣ Panther standing left, head turned back to right, cradling filleted thyrsos. BMC 16. SNG Copenhagen 340. SNG von Aulock 3057. Attractive, and well-centered with a lovely deep green glossy patina. Some deposits, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
