THESSALY. Pharsalos. Early to mid 4th Century BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, plated, 15 mm, 2.36 g, 3 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet with raised cheek flaps and adorned with scrolls and olive twigs; T above IΠ behind neck. Rev. Φ-A-P-Σ (the last two letters retrograde) Horse’s head and neck right in concave field. BCD II 655 (for prototype). Lavva 124. A very deceiving, contemporary, plated hemidrachm of fine style. Plating defects behind neck and above visor, otherwise, good very fine.
