Nude rider on horse prancing to right, holding round shield and two lances with his left hand and striking downwards with a spear held in his upraised right; above left, ΣΙ; below, ΔΕΙΝΟΚΡΑΤΗΣ. Rev. [ΤΑΡΑΣ] Phalanthos seated astride dolphin to left, holding dolphin in his right hand. HN III 967. SNG Paris 1882. Vlasto 692-694. Beautifully toned and clear, with a reverse in high relief. Very slightly off-struck from a slightly worn obverse die, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
