BYZANTINE WEIGHTS, Eastern Mediterranean/Aegean Area. Circa 6th-7th century. Weight of 18-nomismata (Brass, 39x7 mm, 79.84 g), a discoid coin-weight with a flat top encircled by a groove, a plain edge with two grooves (cf. MAH A8), and a centering hole on the top, nomisma of 4.43 g. N° - IH. Rev. Plain. Cf. CPAI 3, 2, 545. Black surfaces, with some old scratches. About very fine.
