CAMPANIA. Capua. 216-211 BC. (Bronze, 16.5 mm, 3.76 g, 9 h). Head of youthful Dionysos to right wearing ivy wreath. Rev. Panther to right holding thyrsos. HN III 2672. SNG Copenhagen 342-343. Stannard & Sinner, "A Central Italian coin with Dionysos/Panther types, and contacts between Central Italy and Spain in the 2nd and 1st centuries BC", Saguntum 46 (2014), p. 161, 1. A rare coin, oddly enough scarcely seen in better condition. Some flatness, otherwise, good fine.

From the Vineyard Collection, bought from Classical Cash in December 1998.
