KINGS OF MACEDON. Perseus, 179-168 BC. Drachm (Silver, 14.5 mm, 2.34 g, 4 h), Pseudo-Rhodian type, struck for the mercenaries of Perseus during the third Macedonian war, Ameinion, 171-168. Head of Helios facing, turned slightly to the right. Rev. ΑΜΕΙΝΙΩN Rose with bud to right; to left, bunch of grapes. Ashton, A Series of Pseudo-Rhodian Drachms from Mainland Greece, NC 1988, 14. A pleasant, nicely toned coin; very rare and of great historical importance. About extremely fine.
