MACEDON, Philippoi. Circa 356-345 BC. Stater (Gold, 16mm, 8.58 g 8). Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΩ[Ν] Tripod with three handles and feet ending in lion’s paws; to right, stag’s head to left. Bellinger, Philippi 19 (this coin cited). Weber 1989 (this coin). Very rare. Some surface marks, otherwise, good very fine.
