CARTHAGE. Circa 270-264 BC. Trihemistater (Gold, 22mm, 12.51 g 12). Head of Tanit to right, wearing grain wreath, triple-pendant earring and necklace of pendants. Rev. Horse standing right, his head turned back to left. BM Guide, pl. 52, 34 (same dies). Jenkins & Lewis Group IX, 377. A lovely clear and well-struck example, from the first die pair of the series. Some very minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.


From the Chrysos Collection, acquired in Geneva in 1980, and from the Tunis Hoard of 1948.
