SICILY, Leontinoi. Circa 405 BC. Tetras (Bronze, 14mm, 2.00 g 2). ΛΕΟΝ Laureate head of Apollo to left; to left before, laurel leaf. Rev. Tripod with three ring handles and lion’s feet; behind, lyre; to left and right, barley grain; below, three pellets. Basel 355. Boehringer pl. 13, 73. Calciati 1/5. A splendid piece with a superb, glossy dark green patina. Minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
