KINGS OF ARMENIA. Tigranes II ‘the Great’, 95-56 BC. Dichalkon (Bronze, 14 mm, 3.20 g, 1 h), Pompeian Reorganisation, Artaxata, regnal year ΛΓ (33) = 64-63. Diademed and draped bust of Tigranes II to right, wearing five-pointed tiara decorated with a star between two eagles. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ TIΓPANOY Cypress tree or palm branch; to outer left ΓΛ (date). ACV 105. CAA -. Kovacs 115. Sharply struck; beautiful coin, well preserved for issue. Obverse slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
