KINGS OF ARMENIA. Tigranes II ‘the Great’, 95-56 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 15.5 mm, 4.16 g, 12 h), fourth series, Tigranokerta, c. 80-68. Diademed and draped bust of Tigranes II to right, wearing five-pointed tiara decorated with a star between two eagles. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ BAΣIΛEΩN TIΓPANOY Cornucopia filled with fruits and bound with fillet; ΔΗ monogram below. ACV 98. CAA -. Kovacs 91. Green patina with earthen highlights; thick and unusually heavy flan for a Chalkous. Slightly off centered obverse, otherwise, very fine.
