MACEDON. Edessa. Philip I, 244-249. Diassarion (Bronze, 23.5 mm, 7.42 g, 8 h). AV K M IOYΛIOC ΦIΛIΠΠOC Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I to right, seen from behind. Rev. EΔECCAIΩN Roma seated left on shield, holding Nike, being crowned by the Tyche of Edessa standing left behind, holding cornucopia. Papaefthymiou - (D3/R- unrecorded reverse, but close to R8). SNG Copenhagen 172 (same obverse die). A rare variation. Some rough areas on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
