SELEUKID KINGS. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25.5 mm, 17.02 g, 7 h), In the name and types of Alexander III the, Babylon I mint, c. 311-300. Head of youthful Herakles in lion's skin headdress to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated to left on throne, holding eagle on his outstretched right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, MHTP monogram within wreath; below throne, H. SC 82.6 (same obverse die as plate coin). Price 3704. A high relief specimen, clear and well struck, with a most appealing reverse die. Scratch on obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
