KINGS OF ARMENIA. Tigranes II ‘the Great’, 96-56 BC. Dichalkon (Bronze, 19 mm, 5.06 g, 12 h), period I, Nisibis, c. 90-80. Diademed head of Tigranes II to left, wearing four-pointed tiara decorated with a star. Rev. BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ MEΓAΛOY ΤΙΓΡΑΝΟΥ ΦIΛEΛΛHNOΣ Nike standing right, holding palm in her right extended hand; M-A monograms above Nike's head an right. ACV -. CAA -. Kovacs 67 var (monograms on the fields). Dark green patina; around three examples are known from this scarce variation. Some uncleaned deposits, otherwise, very fine.
