IONIA. Ephesos. Circa 180-67 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 27 mm, 12.39 g, 12 h), year 45 (ME) = 90-89. Basket (cista mystica) from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, ME (date) above EΦE; to right, lighted torch; between snakes heads, serpent-entwined staff of Asclepius. DCA 325. Kleiner, dated 46. SNG Copenhagen 326. Well centered. Obverse struck from a slightly worn, as usual, die, otherwise, good very fine.
