CVM / PRIVI (=The Prince of Orange, our hero, fights for the fatherland and liberty, with courage equal to the deed) Armored figure of Prince Hendrik on horseback galloping to right; above, Victory flying to crown him; behind, landscape with buildings; in exergue, inscription. Rev. GOD WAS ZYN VOLK DE 13 D / SEPTEMBER GEDACHTIGH / EN BRACHT TOT NIET TVYANS / VLOOT OVER DE SEILEN 80 /16 -31 (=God remembered his people on September 13, and destroyed the enemy fleet of more than 80 sail) Scene of the Battle of the Slaak, with neighboring towns labeled and the artist’s signature on a scroll above the exergue; in exergue, inscription in cartouche.
