Marcus Aurelius, 161-180. Medallion (Bronze, 40mm, 51.78 g 12), Rome, 168. M ANTONINVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Marcus Aurelius to right. Rev. TR P XXII IMP IIII COS III Jupiter standing facing, with drapery over his arms, holding a thunderbolt in his right hand over a togate figure of Marcus Aurelius to left and, in his left hand, holding a long scepter over a togate figure of Lucius Verus. Cohen 886. Gnecchi 52, pl. 63, 3 (this coin illustrated). MIR 18, 1040-1/37. Very rare and with an extensive pedigree. Clear and attractive with a brown patina. Good very fine.
