LUCANIA. Paestum (Poseidonia). Period of the Second Punic War, 218-201 BC. Sextans (Bronze, 16 mm, 3.98 g, 4 h). Wreathed head of Demeter to right, with mark of value (••) behind her neck. Rev. ΠAIS Forepart of a boar standing to right, with mark of value (••) below. Crawford, Paestum 5/3. HN Italy 1193. With a most attractive light green, solid patina. Scratch on the obverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
