Anonymous, c. 225-214/212 BC. Quadrigatus (Silver, 23 mm, 6.51 g, 7 h), Rome. Laureate janiform head of the Dioscouri. Rev. Jupiter, holding scepter and thunderbolt, standing right in a quadriga, driven to right by Victory who stands beside him; below, tablet, with angled sides, bearing ROMA in incuse letters. Crawford 29/3. Sydenham 64. A lovely, clear piece, very well-centered on a broad flan. Some surface roughness, otherwise. Extremely fine.
