From the collection of Yerets’ Kariatin, Switzerland.

Tigranes VI, known also as "Gaius Julius Tigranes", was son of Alexander who was brother of Tigranes V, thus great-grandson of Herod the Great. He spent most of his life in Rome until he was appointed King by Nero shortly before 60 AD. As an ally of Rome he attacked the Kingdom of Adiabene, a client state of the Parthians and ally of the Jews. This is considered as the first act of the forthcoming Jewish war.
