Divus Antoninus Pius, died 161. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 2.94 g, 6 h), struck under Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus, Rome, 161. DIVVS ANTONINVS Bare head of the deified Antoninus Pius to right. Rev. CONSECRATIO Eagle standing right, on garlanded altar, with its head turned to left. Cohen 155. BMC 48 (Marcus Aurelius). RIC 430 (Marcus Aurelius). Particularly sharp and well struck with a lovely iridescent tone and a fine portrait of the deceased emperor. Virtually as struck.
