PISIDIA. Antiochia. Septimius Severus, 193-211. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 34 mm, 23.56 g, 4 h). IMP CAES L SEPT SEVERVS PER AVG Laureate head of Septimius Severus to right. Rev. COL CAES ANTIOCH / S R Mên standing right, with his left foot on bucranium, holding long scepter in his right hand, and Nike, bearing a trophy and standing on a globe, with his left, and with his left elbow supported by a column; to left, cock standing left, its head turned back to right. SNG France 1100-5. Of excellent style and with an intriguing depiction of Mên, surely copying his cult statue at Pisidian Antioch. An attractive, well struck, and clear example, with a brown patina. Good very fine.

Ex Naville 12, 18 January 2015, 192.
