Seal (Lead, 28mm, 16.55 g 12), an Imperial seal used for official documents, before c. 1065. +ΕΜΜΑ - ΝΟΥΗΛ Bust of Christ facing, with cross-nimbus containing five pellets in each arm, wearing tunic and himation, right hand in folds and left holding book; to left and right IC XC. Rev. +ΚωΝ RΛCΛ - Ο ΔΟΥΚΛC Emperor standing facing, wearing crown with cross and pendilia and loros, holding labarum in his right hand and with part of his cloak over his left arm. Zacos & Veglery 87d-e. DOCBS 77.9-10. Very clear and attractive with a grey-tan patina. Extremely fine.
