Probus, 276-282. Antoninianus (Billon, 21mm, 3.66 g 2), Siscia. IMP C M AVR PROBVS P F AVG Radiate, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Probus to left, holding spear with his right hand over his right shoulder and with a shield over his left shoulder. Rev. SISCIA PROBI AVG / XXI VI The personification of Siscia seated partially facing, but turned to the left, on a low, backless throne, she holds a long diadem with both hands; to left and right, river god - on the left Savus (the modern Sava, a tributary of the Danube) and on the right Colapis (the modern Kupa, a tributary of the Sava); below, river waters. RIC 764. A very rare and very well-preserved example, nicely toned. Extremely fine.
