BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Eukratides I, c. 170-145 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32mm, 17.00 g 12), c. later 160s. Diademed and draped bust of Eukratides to right, wearing Macedonian helmet adorned with bull’s horn and ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ / ΕΥΚΡΑΤΙΔΟΥ The Dioskouri galloping to right, each holding spear and palm branch; below right, monogram. Bopearachchi Series 6W, 40. Mitchiner 177f. SNG ANS 469. A splendid example, beautifully sharp, perfectly struck and with an unusually large bust. Virtually as struck.
