ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ / 1911 Elderly head of George I to left; below truncation, in tiny letters, Γ. ΙΑΚΩΒΙΔΗΣ; below, flanking the date, privy marks cornucopia (for the Mint Director) and torch (for the Engraver General, Henri-Auguste Patey, 1896-1930). Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ Crowned and mantled shield bearing the coat of arms of the kingdom of Greece; below, • 2 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ•; in tiny letters on the lower right field, ESSAI. Karamitsos T.76, KM E23. ILLYRIA. Dyrrhachion. Circa 120-80/70 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 3.28 g, 5 h), struck under magistrates Alkaios and Kallippos. ΑΛKAIOΣ Cow standing to right, looking back and suckling calf standing to left beneath her; in exergue, caduceus to right. Rev. ΔYP - KAΛ-ΛIΠ-ΠΟΥ Divided double square containing two stellate designs. HGC 3, 40. Maier 252. Meta 20 (D9-R8). Very fine.
