TROAS. Ilium. Pseudo Autonomous, 138-192. (Bronze, 15.5 mm, 2.48 g, 6 h), struck under Antoninus Pius or Commodus. Helmeted bust of Athena to right, wearing aegis. Rev. ΙΛ-ΙЄ-ΩΝ Aeneas advancing right, leading Ascanius with his right hand and carrying his father Anchises on the left shoulder. Bellinger T208. RPC IV.2 online, 2487 (temporary). SNG Copenhagen 369-370. Highly interesting issue referring to Homer's Illiad and (in the long term) the foundation of Rome. Rare. About very fine.
