Georgios I, 1863-1913. 2 Drachmai 1911 (Silver, 27 mm, 10.00 g, 6 h), Paris, ESSAI, mule, struck from an obverse die by Georgios Jakobides and a reverse die by Albert-Désiré Barre, reeded edge. ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ / 1911 Elderly head of George I to left; below truncation, in tiny letters, Γ. ΙΑΚΩΒΙΔΗΣ; below, flanking the date, privy marks cornucopia (for the Mint Director) and torch (for the Engraver General, Henri-Auguste Patey, 1896-1930). Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ Crowned and mantled shield bearing the coat of arms of the kingdom of Greece; below, • 2 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ•; in tiny letters on the lower right field, ESSAI. Karamitsos T.76, KM E23. Tzamalis, Νομίσματα Ελληνικού Χώρου, Δ38 (this coin). Extremely rare, only three examples known. Uncirculated and with very attractive original toning. Graded by NGC "MS 63". Cert number: 6644262-003. Virtually as struck.
