Obverse die, (35 mm, 16.74 g, 6 h). ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ / 1875 Mature head of George I to right; below truncation, in tiny letters, BAPPE. Rev. B /EPREUVE/ 100 .F. /1855 in four lines (retrograde). Reverse die, (35 mm, 16.92 g, 7 h). ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ, Crowned and mantled shield bearing the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Greece; below, 100 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ; in the lower left field, ESSAI in tiny letters. Alexius I Comnenus, 1081-1118. Aspron Trachy (Silver, 28 mm, 4.40 g, 6 h), Constantinople, 1092-1118. IC - XC Christ, nimbate, seated facing on square-backed throne, raising right hand in benediction and holding Gospels in left. Rev. + ΛΛEXIω Δ-ΠOT Tω K Crowned bust of Alexius I facing, holding cruciform scepter in right hand and globus cruciger in left. DOC 25. SB 1918. Much higher silver content than normally encountered. Good very fine.
